General Manager Job Responsibilities
- Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff.
- Set sales targets and motivate staff to meet those goals.
- Lead staff meetings to ensure all associates stay informed.
- Manage store budgets and maintain financial records.
- Oversee stock levels and order new items when required.
- Address customer complaints and issues in a professional, timely manner
- Handle staff conflicts, complaints, and problems
- Collaborate with marketing to prepare various promotional materials and in-store displays.
- Ensure compliance with various health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the executive team and company headquarters to ensure store location lives up to standards.
General Manager Job Qualifications

- AA or BA/BS preferred.
- 1-3 years previous optical experience preferred.
- 1-2 years previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including strong interpersonal skills.
- Computer skills with CRM software, Order Processing programs, and Microsoft Office/Outlook
- Quantitative and analytical knowledge to properly manage cash and financial records.
- Understanding of basic business management functions
